2023 Centenary Celebrations

Celebrating 100 years of our building.

Production commenced at the Patons and Baldwins spinning mill in Launceston in 1923, and this year, we're celebrating the impact of this historic building.

For more than 70 years the mill was an important part of the economic and social fabric of Launceston.

Door of Hope has proudly owned a significant section of the building since 2002, and we're planning to celebrate the centenary with a community weekend on November 25 & 26, 2023.

The Open Day on Saturday November 25 (10am-4pm) will include displays of memorabilia and photos, guided tours and recorded memories from former factory workers.

We're also having food, entertainment and activities for the whole family!

Do you have your own story about working at Patons & Baldwins (or later, Coats Patons)? We'd love to hear from you!

Want to learn more about the history of both the building and Door of Hope in the meantime?
