Our Senior Minister since 2007, Steve has been part of Door of Hope for more than 20 years, having commenced as Youth and Worship Minister in 1998.
Having grown up as part of the Salvation Army, Steve eventually found his home at the Launceston Church of Christ (as it was then called).
Steve has a genuine love for people and a passion to help them grow and change. His years of full-time ministry has been characterised by warmth, vibrancy, creativity and passion. He has the ability to inspire people of different ages, cultures and walks of life – motivating them to a life of purpose and impact.
“I want to be an encouraging voice that helps inspire people to walk in their God-given purpose. The Lord’s wiring in me is that of an optimist. I grew up with a sense that I was on this earth for a purpose bigger than myself and I wanted to do something with my life. It’s been a huge advantage to never have any doubt about what I was called to do.”
A keen runner, Steve regularly participates in community runs as well as half marathons. He has been married to Karen for over 20 years and together they enjoy great food and spending time with their two teenage children.
