Steve Fitzallen

Senior Minister

Steve has been the Senior Minister at Door of Hope Christian Church since 2007 and has led the community through generational transition and cultural change.

He started as Youth Minister in 1998, where he developed a deep care for young people and transitioned into a Senior Associate role in 2005.

Steve has a profound love for God and people, an evangelical mind and a track record of innovative leadership. He is a passionate advocate for the local church, being the hope of the world, through Jesus.

His years of full-time ministry have been characterised by warmth, vibrancy, creativity and passion. He has the ability to inspire people of different ages, cultures and walks of life - motivating them to a life of purpose and impact. He passionately calls all followers of Jesus to partner in mission with God, for His glory and the growth of His Kingdom.

Steve says…

I want to be an encouraging voice that helps inspire people to walk in their God-given purpose. The Lord’s wiring in me is that of an optimist. I grew up with a sense that I was on this earth for a purpose bigger than myself and I wanted to do something with my life. It’s been a huge advantage to never have any doubt about what I was called to do.

He has been married to Karen for 23 years and together they enjoy great food and spending time with their two teenage children.

Steve is a keen runner, participating in community runs as well as half marathons, a gym junkie, sports tragic and loves exploring Tasmania, Australia and the world.
