Planned giving is when we choose to give regular tithes and offerings. It is a tool to help each of us set a financial goal, with God, for the next 12 months.
Your generosity contributes and enables Door of Hope to achieve its mission of being Jesus centred, others focused and together in community. We're dedicated to serving our community in ways that extend far past our regular Sunday services.
We invite everyone at Door of Hope Christian Church to be a part of planned giving – it's planned, prayerful and helps us be consistent givers throughout the year.
Together, we believe we will continue to see lives transformed and decisions made for Christ as we pursue our 2021 Vision.
To find out more about how your donations are spent, you can view the financial information here.
Thank you for journeying with us as we pursue our God-given vision and mission.
While Planned Giving is a preferred method of giving, it is not the only way to give. You may prefer spontaneous giving, or giving flexible amounts from week to week. Whichever method you choose for giving, you can utilise online giving, text-to-give, or in-person giving options.
Every year gives us a chance to review our personal financial situation and honour God with the first of everything we receive. It also helps us to honour God with intentional and consistent giving.
We ask you to prayerfully plan what your tithes (tithing = minimum 10% of our gross income) and other offerings to Door of Hope will be over the coming 12 months.
Then, during the month of June make a commitment, between yourself and God, to honour that plan throughout the year ahead. Tithing is WHAT we do as a Jesus follower - Planned Giving is HOW we do this.
If you have questions about tithing, offerings or Planned Giving, please indicate on your Next Step Card on Sundays or contact us via phone or email. We’re here to help and we will have someone follow up with you.
Start by praying. Ask God to speak to you about your contribution and then observe His direction. Our obedience may cause us initial sacrifice, however, in time all who give as the Lord directs will see that obedience and sacrifice always result in God's great provision.
YES. This gives you the opportunity to review your personal financial situation and adjust accordingly.
It is as simple as seeking God, committing to and trusting your finances to Him and completing the Planned Giving Response Card, either online or at the Welcome Desk. It is proven that when we sign our name to something we tend to keep to it more than when the commitment is just a thought or intention.
You will be able to commence/recommence as soon as convenient.
NO. During June you will be given the opportunity to sign up online or place your confidential response envelope in the giving buckets during services. Your financial contribution is between you and God and all commitments will be treated with the strictest of confidence and will be seen only by the planned giving accounting team. The total amount pledged, for the whole church, is available to the leadership team and Elders for forward planning of budgets but only the planned giving accounting team is able to link the name of the person to the amount they have committed.
NO. We believe your commitment is a matter between you and God. You are being asked to pray and ask God what He would have you commit to Him. One of the purposes for Planned Giving is to enable the church to have an indication of expected income to allow for efficient and effective planning for the future.
YES. You may revise your commitment at any time during the 12 months by contacting the accounting department on 6344 8450 or emailing accounting@door-of-hope.org.
YES. Just as surely as He helps us in other areas of our life He will help in this. Pray and ask Him for His will in this matter. Prayer, coupled with intelligent faith, should answer your questions. Tithe your first and your best, and trust God to bless the rest.
Embracing modern technology through online giving allows you to be a more consistent giver. It also allows us to plan our ministries more effectively.
